Welcome! 
It is with great joy that we enter another school year. We are preparing for another year to challenge our students' academic abilities, grow in their resiliency, and help every student reach new levels of success.

This is my second year at DeFranco, but I would like to share some background about myself. I graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2000 and attended Wilkes University to achieve two Master’s degrees in 2004 and 2012. I began my tenure as a Social Studies teacher before starting my journey as an Assistant Principal in 2013. I joined the Bangor family in October of 2019 as an assistant at Bangor Middle School. My time there helped foster the growth I needed to join DeFranco as Principal. Beyond my professional experience, I am a wife and mother to three children. As a family, we enjoy busy lives filled with school, sports, and fun memories on my family’s farm and my in-laws’ beach home.

Ultimately, what I STILL believe to be the key ingredient to student success, academically and socially-emotionally, is the connection with parents and guardians. As a community we will continue to work together to put our students' first. At DeFranco students will be offered opportunities to learn, grow and celebrate our achievements throughout the year!

While every year brings its own opportunities and challenges, as a staff, our job is to ensure we help students overcome every obstacle to be their best person! Together, as a school and community, I know we can work together to support our students' growth and achievements.

  • Colleges attended - Muhlenberg College '00, Wilkes University '04/'13, current doctoral student at East Stroudsburg University
  • Degrees held - BA History with Secondary Education Certification, MS in Instructional Strategies, MS in Administrative Leadership
  • Fun Fact - After breaking my nose for a third time, they had to reconstruct it using a rib bone (oh, and I played field hockey in college).

  • Originally from Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
  • I hold a degree in elementary education from Penn State University, earned in 2009
  • A master’s degree in educational leadership from Edinboro University, completed in 2012.
  • I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Lehigh University
  • At Lehigh University I was recognized as the Graduate Student Champion and serve as a Graduate Student Ambassador.
  • I spent eight years teaching 7th grade science in Arizona and achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescent Science.
  • Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, traveling with my husband, and caring for our three cats.
